Description:

We are seeking experienced classically-trained musicians for part-time employment teaching private lessons on the St. Luke's United Methodist campus, centrally located at 3471 Westheimer Rd. (between Edloe and Buffalo Speedway). Our faculty of ~20 instructors serves a diverse mix of students from the church and surrounding communities—our average incoming piano student is a beginner, age 6 to adult, with the occasional intermediate to advanced student wanting to continue their education. Membership in the church is not required of Bridges Academy faculty. Our teaching rooms are available to us all day, every day; however, most lessons occur between 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm weekdays and various hours on weekends. We currently have a wait list of 5-6 piano students and 2-3 guitar students.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Prior private teaching and performing experience in your instrument
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in applied music or music education

Compensation:

Our base rate of pay for instructors is $58.50 per hour, or $61.50 for those with multiple graduate degrees.
